Pests

Rodents

Rodents are highly agile and extremely sensitive to sound, and possess a keen sense of touch due to their sensitive whiskers and hair.

Cockroaches

Female Cockroaches can produce about 30 to 50 eggs at a time. Even when they’re headless, cockroaches can still survive for a week

Flies

Houseflies are able to lay up to a whopping 500 eggs within their average lifespan of 21 days and they taste through receptors on their feet.

Ants

An ant can carry up to 100 times its own body weight. They have two stomachs and are particularly attracted to crumbs and sugary food

Termites

Termite infestations are difficult to spot as they keep their wood destroying activities hidden beneath flooring and behind walls, sliding and wood trim.

Mosquitoes

A drop of water the size of a 20-cent coin is enough for mosquitoes to start a family. Red bumps from mosquito bites are the result of an allergic reaction

Spiders

Different spider species have different number of eyes ranging from 0 to 8. Being active hunters, spiders need these extra eyes to chase down their preys and also to escape from predators. Jumping spiders are capable of jumping up to 50 times its length due to the presence of an internal hydraulic system in its legs that helps to propel its insanely high jumps.

Fleas

Fleas are blood-sucking ectoparasites of warm-blooded animals – they live on the bodies and feed off the blood of rodents, domesticated pets, humans & even birds. They are wingless insects with 6 legs and are 2-4mm long with long narrow bodies, which allow them to move quickly between animal’s furs, hair or feathers.

Ticks

Ticks do not jump or fly! To get a host, ticks crawl through low brush or grass, latching onto leaves or branches with their hind legs, while keeping their front legs outstretched to latch onto passing bodies. This process is called “questing”.

Mites

Mites are a broad category of pests that do a variety of damage. Some mites feed on stored grain and cheese products, while others are biting pests. Bites are small and usually not painful, producing only mild skin irritation. Frequent itching caused by mites may lead to more serious bacterial infections. On the other hand, dust mites are one of the most common allergens and can even trigger asthma attacks.

Bees

Humans have a very interesting and complex relationship with bees! While property owners do not want bees building nests on their homes or premises, humans rely on beehives to produce honey – the only insect-produced food product consumed by humans, with plenty of health and medicinal benefits. In some places, instead of exterminating a beehive, a colony of bees might be relocated to a honey farm for productive reasons.

BedBugs

Bedbugs are stealthy pests. They don’t leave many indications of their presence – except for the itchy and unsightly bites on your skin!
